A classic for bar culture
The Schladerer WILLIAMS BIRNE confirms year after year its quality and so also the right to be in the regular assortment of the Schladerer house distillery ever since. A classic for bar culture – this quality is also confirmed by the pure premium brandy at this year’s Mixology Taste Forum where the Schladerer WILLIAMS PEAR took 4th place and was also able to become the price-performance winner. On the Mixology Taste Forum 100-point scale, 90 points could be achieved, which corresponds to the award “Very Good”.
Thus, with this award, the WILLIAMS PEAR brandy joins the Schladerer range alongside the BLACK FOREST KIRSCHWASSER, which was awarded 93 points in 2019 and took 3rd place there.
Mixology is considered the magazine for bar culture in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Here, the happenings of the premium bar and spirits industry are illuminated from all angles. Mixology stands for independent and high-quality reporting. 13 products from different regions could count on this, which were evaluated in the Taste Forum with the topic fruit brandy (Williams pear).
At €21.90 for 0.7 l, Schladerer WILLIAMS PEAR brandy is the most affordable product in the test. For comparison, 1st place is €55.00 for 0.5 l.
Fruit brandies, like the Schladerer classics, are underrepresented in bars and hence in cocktails, according to the Mixology Taste Forum. However, fruit brandies and spirits created from traditional distilling techniques offer many facets to refresh bar culture. A Williams Sour is a fruity alternative to the Whisky Sour, which is in no way inferior to it. You can find more recipe ideas here.
